Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, has had a “unpreviously unprecedented” outbreak of Ebola virus, according to a statement released by the hospital on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the hospital received an outbreak of the disease from “three individuals who had contact with one of the three people.”
It added that the three individuals are believed to be a male and female, with the female in the last 48 hours being at high risk of contracting the virus.
The hospital also confirmed that the third individual who came into contact with the other two has tested negative for Ebola, the statement said.
The CDC says there have been an estimated 2,766 confirmed and probable cases of Ebola in the United States, and more than 3,600 deaths, so far.
There have been 1,811 confirmed cases, 741 deaths and 11,200 cases worldwide, according the CDC.More News:
