Two people were killed and two others were wounded early Saturday in a double shooting in southwest Oklahoma.
The shooting happened in the rural area of Wylie, Oklahoma, about 45 miles south of Oklahoma City.
A woman, 44, was shot in the head and another woman, 45, was grazed by a bullet in the shoulder, said Shawna Withers, a spokeswoman for the state Division of Public Safety.
The woman who was grazes was not identified.
Witherts said the other woman was grazing a bullet that was lodged in the woman’s back.
She said the woman who died was identified as a family friend.
Authorities did not release any information on the motive.
The shooting comes as the U.S. military continues to grapple with a surge of violent domestic incidents, including at least two deaths at Fort Bliss in Texas, which was the site of the 2003 invasion of Iraq and the death of a soldier.
The military has been grappling with a string of high-profile incidents, most recently the shooting death of an Air Force sergeant and a gunman who killed his wife at a Kansas bar.
